  • As a match going red a very good surprisingly unbiased video put together, one question for Leeds fans almost year after year especially in the 90's we would turn up at Leeds mob handed looking for it with your lot although I must admit it came on top at times why wasn't this replicated at old Trafford? I can only ever remember the 1998 May bank holiday game having trouble and that was pissed up reds not letting Leeds fans into the ground bombarding them with cans and by the 2010 fa cup game well it was all over by then anyways.

  • As an Arsenal fan I always found it sad that in our best ever season Leeds were also relegated. Always been a believer than the PL should have England's biggest teams competing in it, and that should always include Leeds United.

  • Great video, I’d say it’s definitely bigger than our rivalry with city, but not quite as big as the one with Liverpool.

  • I hope Leeds make it back when football resumes and sees their promotion through, would be one of the biggest games of the Premier League calendar.

  • Enjoyed that. Two great clubs really.
Would prefer if Leeds were a mainstay in the prem for the number of interesting games you'd likely get.

  • Put both clubs on an even playing field history wise and it would be in the top 3 world rivalries for sure

  • 26th April 1992, bloody hell that was painful. Mind you I will say that Leeds deserved the title that season. Why did it have to be bloody Liverpool that beat us though?? We need Leeds in the premier league though to renew the rivalry. Football is too soft as it is we need a bit of atmosphere and good old fashioned hatred back.

  • Good video. However Liverpool are lot bigger rivals for United. A Manc Man Utd supporter. Aammer.

  • Hello mate, love a good footy fans video – old skool and liked this. I'm MUFC and of course hate Leeds, only not as much as Liverpool, but as I say below in another reply that could all change if you re-surface! A few points; REALLY enjoyed the references to the 3 games early 90's, as I went to them all including first trips to your place. Great atmospheres, old school football supporting which I stopped seeing so stopped going. But happy memories. Be interested to hear your views from the other side of the fence, but my anecdotal thoughts on the fans is that in the 70's and early 80's we absolutely swamped Elland Rd (not that far away) in the way that we always have Hillsborough. But as segregation and all-ticket came in, our numbers declined but clearly still healthy. We didn't see many Leeds (or anyone tbh) at OT in the 70's but Leeds numbers grew in the 80's when I went mostly, to the point that you could always guarantee a very good turn out and I believe that has remained ever since. I've commented below on the old City dislike of Leeds – seems to have gone; do you remember that? And lastly, again anecdotally from Mcr side, but I remember on 'my travels' with the Red Army a LOT of Reds based in Leeds. There were certain hotspots for United – yes yes children Surrey I know; but seriously lots of Cockney Reds (used to be said after Arse and Spurs we were third best supported, nowadays Chelsea easily overtaken us and I'm not sure as many Cockney Reds but still very pop there); bloody thousands in Birmingham, not many in Liverpool (but they have 2 big teams), spotty in the North East, but massive following in Yorkshire – and as said, esp (bizarrely) Leeds! To balance somewhat, a friend of mine in Mcr, from the late 60's/early 70's with absolutely no connection to Leeds became a big fan (in the nicest possible way, a glory hunter, in the way that there are generations of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and yes, United fans following a period of success) – seem to remember he went to the Bayern final. Anyway, healthy dislike of Leeds BUT that's what all true fans should be like; who wants to play Watford, Bournemouth, Norwich! I just don't see why we have to resort to Munich/Istanbul and beating up innocent followers (never done either) – but I guess that's part of the package if you don't want a sanitised media-friendly packaged middle-class product. Difficult balance! Good luck (ish).

  • Fantastic. One of the fiercest rivalries, on the pitch and on the terraces and it can and regularly has turned very ugly and that's something Sky Sports and the like failed to recognise. Really enjoyed it and glad it put every inch of the rivalry on show, good or bad.

  • Great video, I don't get why people say this isn't a proper rivalry, the disdain on both sides is clear. It'll be interesting to see how these games will go if we get promoted, as Man United aren't the force they were the last few times we played them.

  • Cant wait to see Leeds back where they belong. It will be a pleasure to see Leeds fan putting United fan back where they belong!
